Karen L. Bilotti

Biography

Karen L. Bilotti grew up in Trenton, New Jersey before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma the summer between her junior and senior years of high school. She attended the University of Tulsa College of Law's evening part-time program, graduating in May 1989. She passed the California State Bar exam that same summer and was sworn in as a California attorney in November 1989.

Karen describes herself as a journeyman insurance defense lawyer, having handled seemingly every type of case at one time or another, mostly involving bodily injury claims. She spent approximately eight years at Caltrans, ending in 2016, and has otherwise worked as an insurance defense attorney throughout her career. Two of her trials have drawn media attention including a 2010 case involving the Coble family in Orange County, which resulted in a positive outcome.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys hiking, strength training, cooking, and reading nonfiction. She lives with three cats, one of whom she is currently fostering.
